Hessaire-MC37M-Portable-Evaporative-Cooler

Have you ever wondered how evaporative coolers work, such that they cool everything in their paths without sending forth mist or fog? Bet you find that amusing too. Well, an evaporative air cooler employs an evaporative technology of using water-soaked media to get cool air dispensed. Here is a breakdown.

  1. When you fill-up the tank: When you get your air cooler, load it up with water up to a recommended level. Now, the water stores up in a compartment within the unit known as a reservoir. Layers of cooling pads sit right above the water. Make sure you are supplying clean water into the inlet of your cooler.
  2. When you pump the water into the unit’s system: Once you plug the evaporative air cooler into the wall socket, you have to push the “pump” button to pump water into the unit. The cooling pads absorb water in an upward, anti-gravitational pull from the reservoir and get soaked with it; however, it holds the water molecules on its surface with a cohesive force.
  3. When you start the fan: After you are sure the unit has pushed water in circulation, which does not take long anyway, you can start the fan. You may set the speed as you please. Something that happens is that the system sucks filtered air through the same cooling pads that have sucked water. Air is forced through the pads, and because the water molecules are bound to the surface and cannot just fall off. They are forced to evaporate directly into vapor. The vapor mixes with the air from the cooling unit and that is what is transferred through the fan into the immediate environment.

The fan blades are responsible to distribute the already cooled air through the room or any other place where the appliance is set up.

Some evaporative air cooler options have louver splits that allow users to control what part of the house or direction they’d like to get the cool air to. In a way this is better thanan aircon where it is fixed in place and you have to do regular aircon troubleshooting monthly.

The power knob or button puts the fan on and off. For most products, it also regulates how much air is blown according to how you have set it. The power cord is an unforgettable part that allows power to be passed through the system. It taps electrical current from a closed circuit and transmits it to the evaporative cooler’s panel, where it is converted to mechanical energy, making the unit work.
